Sunday’s playoff loss was exhilarating yet also, in the end, very heartbreaking.

But as we move forward into the offseason and toward 2013, our players, coaches and fans should be so proud of this season, this team and all that we accomplished. An 11-5 regular season record, a road win in the wild card round of the playoffs and a dramatic never-give-up comeback in the divisional round all add together to give the Seahawks and our fans something to be pleased with and excited about.

While the finish to Sunday’s game was crushing, the comeback itself was a perfect microcosm of our club and season. Our players would not give in or relent, even when down 27-7 going into the fourth quarter. They maintained an unwavering belief all the way through the end. Only an incredible team could do what the Seahawks did on Sunday, in the playoffs and during this season — no matter how many times our guys got knocked down or fell behind, they would simply not surrender. Their resiliency bodes well for our future, and while we are bummed the 2012 season has ended, we are pumped about our prospects heading down the road.

So now we embark into the offseason, and our theme for the players and coaches is, “You’re either competing or you’re not.” It’s the only offseason we’ve got, so we’ve got to make the most of it. We’ve challenged the players to make it their best offseason of their careers. It’s the task set before us as we prepare, train and move toward the next step as a football team.

But as we head out, our players, coaches and fans should walk tall and take pride in what we’re building here. Something special is definitely happening with the Seahawks. Thank you for your support through the journey, and we hope you continue to come along for the ride as we charge toward 2013 and beyond.

Thank you. I have been a Seahawk fan since birth (1976), and regardless of how they play – they’ll always be my team. However, you have taken “my” team and they have become the greatest team to root for in all the NFL. They have matched the “12s” excitement, have become so fun – yet so tough, and I simply cannot wait to see what happens next! Go crazy in the draft and in the FA Market and let’s go to the Big Dance!

    Always competing,

As a true and loyal fan of the Hawks since I was old enough to know what the game of football is, I have never been so proud of our team than I was this year. No matter how little people talked about us or how much they thought our team wasn’t one to be reckoned with, we were a strong competitor in every game and only got better every week. All of the players should be very proud of themselves and realize how many fans they made a world of difference for. I have not and would never think of being a fan of a different team. The loss to the Falcons was heartbreaking but I could not have asked for a better season and a better game to go out on (other than a win), but none the less very proud to be a Seattle Seahawks fan!! Thank you Pete Carroll and all your players for a great year! See you guys in the Championship next year! GO HAWKS!!

Unbelievable season Coach! It was awesome watching the development of the offense and DangeRuss Wilson. The improvement of the offensive line under another year with Cable was a huge part of the teams success.

We’re proud of what you guys accomplished, and are extremely excited about the future. With the base built, and these guys working together in the same system is gonna be huge for next season. The road to the Super Bowl goes through Seattle in 2014!

Looking forward to what you guys do next!
