• Resting up and focusing on the finish

    November 13th, 2012 | BY: | IN: Sports

It’s our bye week, and while the focus turns to some much-needed R&R, we are fortunate to go into the break with some really positive momentum after winning our last two games.

To put it simply, we head into our bye feeling really good about where we are and where we’re heading as we approach the end of the season.

However, we will not come back next Monday with our focus not on the final six-game homestretch, but instead entirely on the Miami Dolphins. It’ll be really important we continue to take this one game and one step at a time as we seek to keep growing and improving through the end of the season. We have struggled closing out games and winning on the road this year, so our goal is to be consistent and finish strongly in away games and get more wins on the road, starting next week in Miami.

We have been so close in every road game so far, but we’ve only won one of the five, so we must finish like we did in these last two games. In the fourth quarters of the past two wins, we racked up 17 points, 248 yards and 24:15 time of possession, while holding our opponents to just 56 yards and zero points. It was the type of finish that we love, and one that we’re going to expect as we close out games and the rest of this season.

But first, we have a nice little break this week so we can rest, rehab and come back stronger than ever for the finishing portion of this 2012 season.
